Climactra emerged from the observation that South Tyrolean hotels take sustainability seriously but lack a fitting tool. We are building it.
Our mission
Give hotels a path to robust, GHG Protocol compliant sustainability accounting — without Excel hacking and without every hotel needing to hire an external consultant. With score, readiness and concrete measures instead of just numbers.
What we focus on
Three principles that guide every product decision.
Methodological rigour
Calculations follow the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and HCMI. No invented factors, no black-box algorithms. Every number is traceable and auditable.
Data sovereignty in the EU
All data on EU servers in Germany. GDPR as default, not as compliance overhead. Hotel-group data is never shared with competitors.
South Tyrol-first
Climactra speaks DE/IT/EN, knows Partita IVA and the IDM label, understands seasonal operations. What's 'international first, localisation later' elsewhere is here built in from day one.
Why South Tyrol?
South Tyrol has an exceptionally high hotel density with a strong self-imposed sustainability standard — and at the same time a demanding regulatory environment (Italian tax duties, EU law, German-speaking guests, regional supply chains). What works here works everywhere. That's why we built Climactra here first.
Behind Climactra
Climactra was founded by Jacob Wieser in Jenesien, South Tyrol. From building digital products — including with the software agency method64 — came a clear conviction: South Tyrol's hotels take sustainability seriously but lack a methodically sound tool for it. Climactra closes that gap: GHG-Protocol-compliant CO₂ accounting, a transparent sustainability score and concrete measures — instead of error-prone spreadsheets or expensive consultants.
